President Gerald R. Ford’s Funeral

The witnessing of President Gerald R. Ford’s funeral in Grand Rapids was a once in a lifetime event. Even though I didn’t go downtown for any of the ceremony’s, I found my pride in being an American was renewed as I watched the full coverage stream on-line at WZZM’s website.

Everything was done first class and with respect for a man that navigated this country though a trying of our nation’s Constitution. It was a day of all of us American’s being as one. No politics, no sides, just Americans showing respect for a down-to-earth man that served as our 38th President.
I did see, up close, 18 of the 21 jets that did a flyover during the ceremony at the Presidential Library were he is being buried. They flew right over my office. WOW were they loud!
Anyways…I thank God I am an American!
